Celebrating My Meme

One day before I was born and I was still in heaven Pa taught me how to play catch. He said that learning to play catch was important because Daddy will play with me when I grow bigger and I was going to make him proud. "Who is Daddy?" I asked Pa.

Pa took my hand and led me the edge of the cloud where I could see down below. There were lots of people gathered together in a Church in Jesup. There was music and people singing. They were talking about Pa and what a great man he was. Pa pointed out my Daddy and my Mommy. He said, "They don't know about you yet, but you're about to give them a big surprise. You will make them very happy."

Next my future family went to a warm little house to tell more stories. Pa told me that everyone in that little house was full of people who were going love me and take good care of me. Then he carefully pointed out each one. He showed me Che-pop and said that we were going to go out in the boat alot. He showed Uncle Neil and Aunt Laura and Uncle Eric and Aunt Katherine. Then he pointed out Aidan and said I was going to have to watch out for that little bugger. Pa said we would have lots of adventures together.

Then Pa said, "You see that little lady over there? She is the kindest, gentlest woman you will get to know. She's the love of my life and every member of our family is who they are today because of her. That's going to be your Meme. You have a very important job, Jackson, you bring her lots of my love when you are born okay? And when she needs it most, make her smile my boy!"

I told Pa that I would. When I was born I got to meet everyone that Pa pointed out to me. I knew Meme right away. As soon as she picked me up I saw her blue eyes I knew she loved me. I wasn't sure how to tell her about Pa and what he said so I just nustled next to her and fell asleep in her arms. I think she realized it. Everytime we were together I'd fall asleep in Meme's lap. It was one of the most peaceful places to be. I'm going to miss her alot, but I know Pa will is happy to have her home with him. I don't think they are playing catch, but there are lots of other fun things to do in heaven. I know they are looking over the same cloud and pointing us out to my future family too.

(We are so fortunate to have been blessed with a real-life angel like MeMe. Jennifer and I love her and Pa so much and are happy they are together again. Tell Nanny and De-da hey for us. - Drew)
